What are ThermaSAVE Building Systems?
ThermaSAVE Building Systems utilize Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) made from a solid core of high-insulating expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam (Styrofoam) that’s sandwiched between two rigid fiber cement boards. The cement boards, along with ThermaSAVE’s patented high-pressure bonding process, create superior buildings that save energy, resist the elements, and go up much faster than other building methods. ThermaSAVE panels can be used for exterior and interior walls, floors, and roofs for a total building solution.
Why are ThermaSAVE Building Systems better than wood stud construction?
ThermaSAVE Building Systems offer tremendous advantages over traditional wood stud construction. Buildings made with ThermaSAVE panels are more energy efficient; more resistant to fire, water, wind, mold, snow loads, and earthquakes; and much faster and easier to construct. All this results in significant savings for builders, owners, and the enviroment.
Why are ThermaSAVE Building Systems becoming so popular?
ThermaSAVE Building Systems are so popular because they save time, labor, money, energy, and the earth. They’re also more durable than other building systems.
What makes ThermaSAVE panels so incredibly strong?
The structural integrity of Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) has been demonstrated time and again since the 1930s. ThermaSAVE panels have improved on SIP technology with the addition of fiber cement boards and a high-pressure bonding process. Standard ThermaSAVE panels will withstand winds of over 110 mph, and are easily upgraded to withstand 200-mph winds. To put this in perspective, hurricane Katrina, the most costly hurricane is U.S. History, recorded winds up to 175 miles per hour.
What makes ThermaSAVE panels so environmentally friendly?
ThermaSAVE SIP construction is the most environmentally friendly of all contemporary building methods. The expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam core doesn’t affect the ozone layer and is manufactured using non-toxic products. Compare that to fiberglass insulation, which is required to have a cancer warning on every roll. Buildings made from ThermaSAVE panels also save energy and forests by reducing utility bills and limiting the need for lumber.
How are electrical and plumbing run through ThermaSAVE Building Systems?
Running electrical in a ThermaSAVE Panel is quite simple. One-inch chases are cut horizontally at 12” and 44” above the floor, and there’s a vertical chase every four feet. An electrician who has installed electrical lines in conduit will find it easy to adapt to this system. We suggest that all plumbing be done in the interior walls, to avoid creating thermal breaks in the wall system. This will improve R-Value and create less of a chance of a pipe bursting from the cold or having warm tap water in the summer.
How can I order a ThermaSAVE Building System?
We’re here to assist you at any time during your preconstruction phase. Simply e-mail your plans to info@thermabuilt.com for an estimate. If you have questions, e-mail or call us at 928-289-2118 and we’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have.
How much of a down payment is required?
We require a 30% deposit before we can cut panels for your project. This usually comes out of the construction budget and is easily planned for by the general contractor in the budget process. The balance is due prior to shipping the panels to your job site.
